Since a daily Batman bust kept me honest last year, this year it shall be Iron Man. I suck at mech stuff and have little experience with the Stark, so it should be a good challenge.

Mike, i don't wanna be the first one to be sayin' things but those background textures are taking away attention from your delicious lines. Like, i could probably get by with the ironman thing but the nutter you've drawn in blue pencil is just a crying shame that i am staring more at the fake folds of texture than at your wonderful shapes. I hate to keep coming in here with these sentiments. I will post happy things next. Promise.

First saying I LOVE that chinchilla, the depth on its knee (and even his hat) is amazing and I kind of forgot you could do that because all of these iron men are just kind of safe, flat, boring? You're stretching the shapes and stuff but they're just inherently two dimensional. I know the whole theme thing can make the event of feb feel more uniform but considering you probably also animate all day I think setting time aside to just draw whatever freeform nonsense and stretch REAL mike muscles is a good idea? because as of right now that chinchilla is KNOCKING everything else on this thread and I'd hate that to be true for the whole month.

also I'm aware of the hypocrisy of not doing the event this year MY POINT STILL STANDS

These Iron Man pieces are great fun, Mike (especially that little chinchilla)! However, I'd love to see you try your hand at a full on body shot and see you mess around with some shapes there -- go crazy! Also, remember just how many different versions of the Iron Man suit are out there -- there's nothing to stop you mixing-and-matching elements from different costumes together, the sky's the limit (like, say...the first, tin can armour mixed with elements of the 'Hulkbuster' armour)!

EDIT: I highly recommend checking out this website for reference/inspiration as it is pretty much the most in-depth list of Iron Man's various armours out there.

YES. All this honesty is bringing a tear to my eye for the old Tavern days. Keep calling me on my shit guys. Only way I will break into my next art awakening. It seems like more drawings from random reference on top of or incorporated into these Iron Man designs is what the art doctor orders. Hopefully I can crank out some Iron Man busts in the mornings, then do another drawing at night of something else.

Neil- You could never do a Feb again and you are still well within your limits as a Feb forefather to hit me with everything you got. I miss seeing your stuff this year tho. So please make this the only Feb you aren't daily doodling.

John- Thanks for the link. I'd just been using google image search, but without the armor names or history I wasn't getting that variety. You just made my month far more fun/easy.
